In addition to the regular Master’s Academy of Fine Arts classes (our fine arts exposure program in the afternoon), we will be offering additional classes in various subjects.
A student does NOT need to be enrolled in Master’s Academy of Fine Arts, our afternoon fine arts exposure program, in order to enroll in these classes.
No classes on Sept. 8, 2010, Oct. 13, 2010, Nov. 24, 2010 and Feb. 23, 2011

PLEASE NOTE:When registering for these classes, you are committing for the full school year and will be obligated to pay for tuition even if you withdraw your child (please read our withdrawal policies on the registration form).
A minimum of 6 students is required in order for us to hold a class (exceptions are made for all private instrumental lessons).

Art Club(8 & up) Instructor: Libby Taffin
Focused art instruction designed to enhance your child's artistic talent. Starting with in-depth drawing instruction, we'll explore fundamental tips and techniques such as learning to find the simple shapes that make up complicated objects, line, shadow, proportion and perspective. Each student will need to provide his own spiral bound 8.5x11" sketch book and bring it to class each week.

Fencing Year 1 (6 + years old)
Instructor: Oswaldo Ortega
Under the training of Oswaldo Ortega our students are taken into the world of fencing. From 1981-1982, Oswaldo studied in the Fencing Masters program at the National Sports Institute in Paris, one of the premier programs worldwide for the training of Fencing Masters. In his native country of Venezuela, Oswaldo was the National Coach and chosen Coach of the Year. Since immigrating to the US in 1996, his students have begun to rapidly make their mark on the regional, national, and international level.

Computer Video Game Creation ANDStop Motion Animated Movie MakingTwo different classes offered for 8-10 year olds AND 11-13 year olds
(LAPTOP REQUIRED - 1GB or higher, Windows XP or 7, NOT compatible with Mac or Netbooks)

Computer Video Game Creation (14 weeks) If you think playing computer games is fun, think what a blast learning to program your own games will be. Your imagination is the limit as you use GameMaker software to create maze, strategy, and a variety of other types of games. Using drag and drop programming, you'll be creating exciting, professional looking games you can play with your friends. You MUST be experienced using a computer to take this class. We'll teach you how to display health, lives, score, splash screens and high score tables. Software works on Windows OS only.
Stop Motion Animated Movie Making (15 weeks) If you've ever wanted to direct your own movies or like making up stories, then this class is for you. Using digital cameras, Stop Motion Pro animation software, and video editing software, you'll create animated movies with transitions, titles, credits, and sound effects. Design your own set with backgrounds, characters, and scenery. The stories are up to your imagination. Students take home a CD with their movies at the end of the class.

Master’sDrama Club (7-10 years old)
Students will be preparing and performing a play as well as learning important theatrical skills. They will be fairy tales by Charles Perrault such as Cinderella, Puss and Boots on March 4, 2011. They will also have the opportunity to perform in Honk Junior on April 23, 2011 at 3:00pm and 7:00pm.Students have to be enrolled in Master's Academy in order to be able to enroll in the Drama Club. Production Fee:$50 per show involved in and due two weeks prior to show.This fee covers:rent of venue, props, set, royalty fees, 2 cast dinners, script, director flowers, and production t-shirt.Not included in this fee:costume, family tickets, sponsorship ads in the program, personal flowers and make-up.
Tuition: $315 ($35/month - 9 payments) Tuition does not include script, costumes, or tickets to performance.
Master’s Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts Drama Club (11+ year olds)
Auditions will be held on August 27th at 3:30pm at WoodstockCommunity Church.Students will be involved in performing in a major musical theatrical production, Honk Junior (a modern day musical version of the Ugly Duckling) to be performed at The Arts Place.Students will also be learning acting skills necessary for performing this production. Tech week will be from April 18 - April 23, 2011.Show date is April 23, 2011 at 3:00pm & 7:00pm.Production Fee:$50 due two weeks prior to show.This fee covers:rent of venue, props, set, royalty fees, 2 cast dinners, script, director flowers, and production t-shirt..Not included in this fee:family tickets, sponsorship ads in the program, personal flowers, shoes, and make-up.

Master’s Voice Performers Choir (11+ year olds) Instructor: Laura Hettinger Students will develop singing skills including reading music, singing in parts, sight-reading, ear-training and performance.

Chess Club (6+ year olds)
Instructor:Ginger Moss
Come learn the exciting game of chess.For starters, the students will learn the basic rules of the game and then move on towards studying tactics and strategies.As a textbook, students will need to obtain a copy of Usborne’s Starting Chess to fully benefit from the class.The Chess Club will also meet outside of class(dates, times and location to be announced) to be able to play group games.If you are enrolling in the Beginner Chess Club, the student must be able to read on their own. Please note that all 6 year olds must be able to read and write numbers and letters without assistance.
The Master's Academy of Fine arts is a homeschool fine arts school where students taught from a historical perspective.
The Master's Academy focuses on teaching music, art, drama, and history through six distinct historical periods. These include: ancient, medeival-renaissance, baroque, classical, and romantic. The children are exposed to choir, plays, drawing, painting, music theory, dance, and art history.
We are committed to providing a homeschool art program that encourages children to Glorify God through excellence in the arts.
Many of our homeschool art students have received large scholarships to universities based soley on their portfolio work completed at Master's Academy of Fine Arts.
We understand the importance that the arts play in our culutre, and desire for every homeschool art student to learn about the arts through a God centered historical perspective.
Our well rounded homeschool art program centers on Christ, by teaching our students not just the techniques, but also a historical worldview that shows them the importance of using their
art to glorify God.
